After the kimono is dyed with yuzen dyeing, it is given a final "make-up" of gold coloring. This Uchikake is considered the highest level of Japanese kimono by yuzen artist Akira Akiyama. In addition to the pure white "shiro-muku" wedding kimono, the bride wears a "Iro-uchikake" (colorful wedding kimono) for her wedding ceremony.
